BARRELHEAD

Privacy

The short version. You play without an account, so we never learn who you are. Your games are saved in your own browser. The site is paid for by advertising, and the advertising is the only part that uses cookies.

Who runs the site

Barrelhead is run by Hydral Media AB, a company in Stockholm, Sweden, with company number 559139-5545. The company is responsible for the personal data described on this page. You reach us at hello@barrelhead.games.

What is saved in your browser

The game you are in the middle of, the level you chose and your record of wins and losses are saved in your browser's local storage, so that they are still there when you come back. This never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it.

Counting visits

We count how many times each page is opened, which country the visit came from and what kind of device was used. This is done with Umami, a statistics tool we run ourselves. It sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses, and nothing in it can be traced back to you.

Advertising

The games are free because the site shows advertising from Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar identifiers to show ads, to limit how often you see the same one and to measure how the ads perform. Depending on your choice, the ads can be based on your earlier visits to this and other sites.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are asked before any of this happens, and you can say no or change your mind later. Google explains how it uses information from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and you can turn off personalised ads in your Google ad settings.

Until the advertising is switched on, the site sets no cookies at all.

Your rights

Under the EU data protection rules you can ask what personal data a company holds about you, and ask to have it corrected or erased. Because you play without an account, we hold none ourselves. For the data used in advertising, the choices above are the way to control it. Questions about any of this go to hello@barrelhead.games. If you think your data is handled wrongly you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY.
